We know how difficult it is to try something new.

How much do I need to train? How do I train? Am I fueling properly? Am I resting enough/too much? These are all valid questions!

At Epictour, we understand that everyone (At some point) is a beginneR.

And we’re here to help you get started on this wonderful cycling journey! Whether you have a lofty goal or are just looking to start getting active, we are here for you.

We have created a dedicated Facebook group for newbies to connect!

This group will be composed of beginner cyclists and will allow you to lean on each other for support and advice. We will use this platform to connect with each other and meet other new cyclists as well.

together, we will follow along and complete a structured 10-week training plan.

Keep scrolling for more info!

We also have access to a wealth of knowledge for expert cycling advice.

We have advanced cyclists within the Epictour community who will also be able to assist with any questions you may have regarding training, nutrition and cycling gear.

Are there prerequisites ?

Cycling Weekly recommends a ‘moderate’ level of fitness, having exercised once or twice per week for the last four weeks. You’ll also need a bike - any kind of bike (mountain bike, hybrid, road). You can bike outside, on a trainer, or even on a stationary bike.

What does the program look like?

This is a beginner cycling program. Workouts can be done independently or with a training buddy. We will be following a 10-week training program put together by Cycling Weekly. Training will be 3-4 times/week. The first ride is 45 min long with an ‘easy’ or ‘2/10’ effort output. By the end, the goal is to ride 3 hours straight.

Is this program for me?

You don’t know how to create a training program for yourself

You want to be able to join a group ride by the end of this and not have to worry if you can keep up or not.

Have no fear, all the hard work will be done for you. Which day, for how long and how hard. Your program is prescribed. By the end of the program, you’ll have full confidence that you will be riding for 3 hours straight. If you have any problems, we will have a cyclist support group where you can figure it out together…or you can lean on some of our very own experts in the field.

You like being held accountable to other people

You need the group support and motivation from other cyclists to stay on track with the training program.

Not to worry, we will have a set number of training times per week for you to stick to. You won’t all need to train at the exact same time every day, but hopefully you will all stay on track with the program as much as possible and keep each other accountable. If you’d like to set up specific times with a buddy in the Facebook group, feel free to do so!
